News and Show Wins

Stallion News

Flash: Prince Imatep Too was shown at the NW Heritage show on April 11th. and he couldn't have been better!  He was a perfect gentleman and did everything that Cory asked of him.  I am so proud of both of them.  The judge really liked him and he placed 4th, basically tied with the 3rd place horse (a 7-time Regional champion and 2006 unanimous Sport Horse National champion).  Not bad for his first time out!  His score was 69.9.

He is now qualified for Nationals with 5 points.  We are going to show again at the Cascade on May 9th. and probably Regionals also for the experience and exposure, but we are definely Nationals bound in September!

Prince is a Breeders Sweepstakes nominated sire and may be introduced for a limited number of public breedings in 2008 depending on his training and show schedule.  Don't miss out.  Book early as only paid bookings will be accepted.   He already has several girls waiting in line, and with his training etc. he will be a busy boy.

Monettah Is Back!

Monettah is home from Oregon and checked in foal to Ibn El Hilal for a "very" late delivery date.

2007 Pacific Rim Show

At the Pacific Rim show Faleena's granddaughter, Lady Alima took a 2nd in the Western Pleasure Maiden horse class, this after only 30 days in training. This is Shahleena's daughter and she is 19 yrs. old. Then she carried a two yr. old little boy to victory in the leadline class! Shahleena can still be seen on the mare page.

Faleena was well represented at the show with 1 granddaughter, a great-grandaughter and a great-grandson (Pinto). Makes me feel so good to see people continuing my program and showing these beatuiful horses, thanks everyone!

ANCHOR HILL ADDIA #206188
3/17/80 - 6/22/07

This sweetest of mares was my friend and now she is gone. Addia was a daughter of the great Al Metrabbi who, at the age of 22 passed away just 4 months before his last foal was born in 1989, his first being in 1971. Addia was such a joy to be around and although she only had 6 foals, she was worth her weight in gold. I have 2 Chestnut daughters to carry on for her and they are just like her!

Addia's retirement home friend, Robyn Salazar of Boise, ID. stated to me in an email
one day back in 2004, "I just stood and looked at Addia today. She has a beautiful head and air about her. She calms me."  Robyn is understandably upset, as am I but I told her that Addia had a good life and we are better off for knowing her and having the privilege of caring for her.

I got to see Addia in April and she got kisses and carrots. I guess she was jogging
around till the morning she just couldn't get up anymore. She has gone to join her buddy Faleena, who passed away in 2002. They were together then and both 27 at their passing. Have fun you two and maybe someday...

Mavis Jean Rogge
February 15, 1936 - December 1, 2006

The Arabian Horse Community has lost another long time breeder and supporter.
Mavis Rogge was my friend and mentor. She is the reason that I have Egyptian horses to this day. Although only 7 yrs. older than me, I always considered her my second "mom". This was years ago and oh, the joys of youthful thinking!

Mavis taught me many "life lessons" and I will never forget the profound statements she made about how to conduct yourself in the horse business. I have always tried to live up to what she taught me and pass along the same.

Through contacts with other caring breeders around the country, I was able to help find good homes for her last 3 horses, a Ruminaja Bahjat son, daughter and granddaughter. Knowing that they were safe, I guess she was ready to go. Mavis purchased Ruminaja Bahjat, from the breeders, as a yearling and was very instrumental in his name becoming a "household word". Pretty good for a horse that was basically never shown!

Mavis was very active in the Region 5 Association and was a past Director. She had a great love and compassion for animals, especially her horses. I purchased horses from and through her, including my dear Faleena, I always knew where I stood with her (like it it or not). She was one of the most honest people I ever knew and I will miss her greatly.

Go with God, dear heart, and rest in peace!

5/29/83 - 11/21/05

It is with a very heavy heart that I have to report the passing of the wonderful Arabian stallion, Falcontep.

Falcontep, a true and loving friend passed away on Nov. 21 2005. At the time of his passing Falcontep was owned by Kimberly Hertel of Deer Park, WA. This has upset her so much that she just let me know this week in April. We both loved him very much.

Falcontep had a unique personality for a stallion. I don't think he ever met a person he didn't like and he was so gentle with everyone that you just couldn't help but come away feeling touched by him.

Falcontep's breeder Sally Stokke, long time Egyptian breeder, well known and respected by all, also passed away recently in March of this year.

I feel like this is the end of an era and I guess it would be if not the the precious legacy, Prince Imatep Too, left to me by Falcontep and made possible by my friend Sally.

May you two meet again in heaven and Happy Trails.
